The agent of Udinese striker Beto admits that there is plenty of Premier League interest in his client amid ongoing links with Frank Lampard’s Everton, speaking to Tuttomercatoweb

You’d have got long odds on Atalanta and a supposedly crisis-hit Napoli side being joint-top of the Serie A table by early October. Even fewer would have imagined that Udinese, a team who have finished in the bottom half every year since 2013, would be sitting pretty in third.

That they are is, in part, thanks to the ruthless, rip-roaring form of their 24-year-old poacher.

Beto might have started just three league games this term but he’s still found the time to score five goals. A tally that has earned the former Portimonense man the admiration of an Everton side who look set to move on from Salomon Rondon sooner rather than later.

Gazzetta dello Sport say that the Toffees are big fans of Beto; an expert finisher and a physical presence too at 6ft 4ins.

Could Everton replace Salomon Rondon with Udinese striker Beto

“Now, the player is showing all his worth,” explains Gabriele La Manna, who played a key role in his £9 million move to Udinese.

“I think he is one of the most important players in our league. (Beto) is coveted by many teams, especially in the Premier League.”

Newcastle United and West Ham were also linked earlier in the year.

Beto idolises former Inter Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid forward Samuel Eto’o, though his size and strength have sparked comparisons with 2021 Serie A champion Romelu Lukaku.

“You can’t compare Beto to Lukaku,” argues ex-Everton winger and Udinese team-mate Gerard Deulofeu, via the Italian Football Podcast. “They are two different players.

“I really like Beto; his mentality to push on the pitch, to improve every single game. I like these types of players.

“We speak a lot because we usually play very close on the pitch. He is a really good guy. I think we will do great things together and score a lot of goals together.”
