Darren Randolph has revealed that he’s never had a teammate like Tomas Soucek before, and believes that the West Ham stalwart has one ‘unusual’ ability.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the ex-Middlesbrough man said: ‘Soucek himself alone can cover 13 or 14km in a game and I’ve never played with someone who covers that much distance in a game, ever.
‘To have those numbers and match that with the quality and ability is unusual, because you normally have one or the other – quality but no running or a runner who is not very good – but Tomas does both!’
It sounds like Soucek really is the complete package.
The Czech Republic international can run all day, but also possesses the end product to turn his effort into key moments for the Hammers, just like he did late on against Fulham last time out.
In total, Soucek has scored four goals in 21 appearances since arriving at the London Stadium on loan back in January.

The Irons have since signed him permanently for £19.1 million, and it’s proving to be an excellent piece of business.
Alongside another hard-worker in Declan Rice, West Ham’s midfield is proving to be their most solid area of the pitch right now – there is effectively a brick wall in front of their defence.

In Randolph’s case, he has had to bide his time since the Hammers re-signed him in a deal worth £4 million, in the same month they signed Soucek on loan.
In fairness to the Irishman, Lukasz Fabianski’s heroics would make it difficult for most back-up glovesmen to get a sniff of action at the London Stadium.
