Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard wants to bring Rangers right-back Nathan Patterson from Ibrox to Villa Park, according to 90min.

What’s the story?

It has been reported that Rangers full-back Patterson is among the Rangers players Gerrard wants to sign for his new club Villa.

The former Liverpool midfielder left Rangers to become the new manager of Villa this week.

Gerrard rates the 20-year-old highly and wants to sign him for Villa.

The Englishman has reportedly his Villa bosses to get a deal for Patterson done.

From the Rangers defender’s side, according to the report, he would find it really hard to turn down a move to Villa.

The main reason is that the Scotland international is a big fan of Gerrard and loved working under him at Rangers.

Worrying for Rangers

From the report, it seems that if Villa make a bid for Patterson in the January transfer window, then they could get the defender.

Now, of course, Villa have to come up with a suitable offer.

However, Patterson’s desire could hold the key.

The 20-year-old earns £4,900 per week as salary at Rangers (SalarySport).

Villa can offer him much more than that.

The defender himself reportedly admires Gerrard.

It is really worrying for Rangers.
