Tottenham were rejected by Thomas Tuchel a few weeks ago as Daniel Levy attempted to replace Antonio Conte.

Spurs eventually decided to hand the reins to Cristian Stellini until the end of the season.

Now – while the Italian himself is struggling to get results for Tottenham – Tuchel is also having a difficult time.

What’s the story?

Well, the German rejected Tottenham in favour of replacing Julian Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich, according to BILD.

The opportunity arose for Tuchel despite the fact that his fellow countryman only lost three of his 37 games in charge this season.

Clearly, standards are high at Bayern Munich, and the 49-year-old is currently finding it tough to do any better than Nagelsmann did at the Allianz Arena.

Tuchel suffered a 3-1 defeat to Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga earlier on Saturday, handing Borussia Dortmund the chance to jump into first place.

The Krumbach-born tactician also steered Bayern Munich out of the Champions League with a 4-1 aggregate defeat to Manchester City.

Furthermore, Tuchel took Bayern Munich out of the DFB-Pokal after losing 2-1 to SC Freiburg in the Quarter-Final.

Of course, it is still early days for Tuchel in Bavaria, and we expect things to get a lot better next term once he has had a full pre-season to work with his squad.

Nevertheless, his start to life back in Germany has done nothing to make Tottenham fans feel any sort of sadness about missing out on his signature.

Nagelsmann to Tottenham after Tuchel rejection

After Spurs tried – and failed – to hire Tuchel, it seems Nagelsmann is coming to N17.

That is according to BILD in Germany, with their Head of Football Christian Falk claiming that a “crazy” situation has occurred where the 35-year-old is now focused on getting the Tottenham job.

The Telegraph believe Nagelsmann is now Levy’s No.1 choice to replace Conte, so with all things considered, it seems the German will become Tottenham’s new manager.
