Last night, Eddie Nketiah put Alexandre Lacazette to shame as he shone in a 4-2 win for Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, scoring twice against Chelsea.
It was a massive result for the Gunners, and a much needed one after suffering three successive defeats in the Premier League.
Everyone will surely be all smiles in training at London Colney today, although if we were Lacazette, we’d be feeling quite embarrassed.
What’s the story?
Well, the Frenchman is clearly a respected member of the squad, having worn the captain’s armband since December.
However, Nketiah has humiliated him, after matching his Premier League goal tally for the campaign in just 57 minutes – excluding penalties.
It took the 22-year-old just under an hour to score a brace at Stamford Bridge, his first Premier League goals of the season.
In contrast, it has taken Lacazette 26 Premier League appearances to score four goals, with only two of those coming from open play.
The £46.5m man’s strikes against Norwich and Leicester came from the penalty spot.

In our view, Nketiah deserves to start the final six games of the Premier League campaign – he has earned it.
The Hale End Academy graduate provides a much larger goal threat than Lacazette, and is always sniffing around to see if he can poach a goal.
In contrast, the Frenchman is often statuesque, and as shown by his goalscoring record this season, is far from prolific.
If Arteta now goes on to restore Lacazette to the starting XI, Nketiah would have every right to be furious.
