Tottenham are in the market for a left and right wing-back this summer and the Brighton & Hove Albion star is apparently on Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici’s wishlist.
Earlier in the summer, The Athletic reported that Manchester City were confident in beating Spurs to the player’s signature.
And it looks like that might be bang on the money.
That’s because the Spanish defender himself has just dropped a substantial hint about a transfer to the Etihad Stadium.
On Instagram, Fabrizio Romano posted a story about Cucurella possibily joining Pep Guardiola’s side this summer and who ‘liked’ the same post?
Yep, it was Cucurella.
Of course, this isn’t concrete evidence that Tottenham will be missing out on the player, but you would worry for the Lilywhites’ chances of signing him now based on his social media activity.
According to The Sun, the Seagulls want £45 million for their star player anyway and when it comes to finances, obviously City have the edge over Spurs in this department.
