Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell and West Ham United’s Declan Rice were just two Premier League players who loved seeing Tottenham Hotspur fans at Wembley yesterday.
Tottenham and Manchester City met in the League Cup final, with 8,000 people in attendance.
2,000 of the most loyal Spurs and City supporters, were added to with 4,000 NHS staff at England’s national stadium.
It led to a good atmosphere being created for the League Cup final.
The roars, boos and cheers of supporters have been badly missed over the past year.
And £45 million man Chilwell (BBC Sport) and Rice were delighted to see supporters back in the ground, even if many were cheering for one of their respective sides biggest rivals in Tottenham.
In the end it was the City supporters who left Wembley the happier.
Tottenham never really threatened in an attacking sense during the contest, and they were undone late on when Ayemeric Laporte powered a header beyond Hugo Lloris to seal City’s triumph.
