Crystal Palace’s Andros Townsend has been speaking to Patrick Vieira on The ITV Football Show, where some interesting comments were made.
The 29-year-old quizzed the Frenchman on reports linking him to the vacancy at Selhurst Park.
Intriguingly, Vieira said: “I’ve always wanted, and I still want, to come and manage in the Premier League because of the passion of the fans. Coming back to England will be a priority for me.”
Now, it’s safe to say the 44-year-old didn’t exactly pour cold water on the rumours.
It was The Athletic who revealed that Vieira is on Crystal Palace’s shortlist to replace Roy Hodgson.
The Athletic add that he was also being considered by Bournemouth earlier in the season.
Has Vieira had a good managerial career?

The ex-Arsenal colossus has only ever managed two sides – New York City and OGC Nice.
Interestingly, he only spent two years with each club, leaving New York City to join OGC Nice, who sacked him back in December.
Vieira also spent time in charge of Manchester City’s Under-21 side.
Including that spell, he has won 115 games as a manager, overseeing 253 matches in total.

During that time, Vieira’s sides have scored 429 goals, while picking up 399 points along the way.
It would certainly be a risky appointment by Steve Parish given the Frenchman’s lack of managerial experience.
However, if the Eagles do decide to hire Vieira, at least he sounds keen on the idea of managing the south Londoners.
