Emiliano Buendia will be heading back to the Premier League next season, but will he be donning Arsenal, Aston Villa, or Norwich’s colours?
The 24-year-old has ripped it up in the Championship this season – scoring 14 goals and supplying 17 for his now promoted side and soon-to-be Championship winning team.
And with the likes of Arsenal and Villa hunting for his signature, the twinkle-toed playmaker might just have increased his value with his performances in England’s second-tier.
Whilst Arsenal and Villa recognise Buendia’s talents, he has just been shortlisted for the Championship’s Player of the Season, alongside his teammate, Temmu Pukki and Brentford hitman, Ivan Toney, as posted by the Championship’s official Twitter account.
Many would have argued that Buendia should have stayed in the Premier League when Norwich were relegated, well his performances during their dominant campaign, which included assisting three and scoring one during a 7-0 win battering of Huddersfield, is proof of that.
But now the appeal to sign him will grow even stronger and it will be interesting to see how Norwich react if bids do come in for him.
They have the financial power to keep hold of him now they are returning to the pocket-filling Premier League.
But given the size of clubs after him, it would be pretty difficult for Buendia to turn down any offers if those respected clubs came in for the £40 million wizard.
