Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of missing out on Federico Bernardeschi.

Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Federico Bernardeschi is closing in on a move to Inter Milan.
Italian newspaper Il Messaggero report Inter are in advanced talks with Roma over a transfer worth 40 million Euros.
The Evening Standard reported in January that Bernardeschi was on Tottenham’s radar, with head coach Mauricio Pochettino a big fan.
Bernardeschi scored against Spurs two seasons ago as Fiorentina knocked Pochettino’s side out of the Europa League.
The winger has scored 10 goals in 20 starts for Fiorentina this season, and is just 23-years-old.
Inter Milan are being bankrolled by Chinese investors Suning International, and are acting early to try and put together a side capable of winning next season’s Serie A title.
It would be difficult for Tottenham to try to step in and hijack a deal, but considering their interest in the player, now is the time to try before it is too late.
Fiorentina would surely prefer to sell to a club abroad rather than strengthen a rival, and Tottenham – unlike Inter who are sixth in Serie A – will likely be able to offer Bernardeschi Champions League football next season.
Should they want to play a trump card – offering Erik Lamela in part exchange could be a game changer if Spurs are serious about snapping up the prolific Italian.
