Tottenham Hotspur should challenge Juventus for Federico Bernardeschi.

Fiorentina sensation Federico Bernardeschi could be set to leave the club, according to Eurosport Italy.

The 23-year-old has informed Fiorentina he does not wish to renew his contract and has asked to be made available for transfer.

Italian champions Juventus are predictably favourites for his signature, but Bernardeschi’s situation should catch the eye of Tottenham too.

The London Evening Standard reported earlier this year that Bernardeschi was on Tottenham’s radar, with Mauricio Pochettino a big fan.

He has good reason to be, with Bernardeschi scoring against his Tottenham team in the Europa League in 2015.

Bernardeschi recently featured for and starred with Italy’s under-21 side, but he also a senior Italy international who featured at Euro 2016.

Last season he scored 11 Serie A goals, 14 in all competitions, and five assists.

Fiorentina finished in eighth place last season and the opportunity to play Champions League football should be tempting.

A move to Juventus would be the safer option for Bernardeschi if he can secure it, but Tottenham shouldn’t give up before the chase has even started.
