Florian Neuhaus has handed a timely boost to Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, telling TZ reports saying he’s agreed a move to Bayern Munich are nonsense.
While Bayern have maintained their tradition of hobbling Bundesliga rivals, snatching Dayot Upamecano from runners-up RB Leipzig before returning for Julian Nagelsmann, Neuhaus isn’t about to join FC Hollywood’s all-star cast.
Not yet, anyway.
At the weekend, BILD reported the stylish Germany international had agreed a deal that would see him move to the Allianz Arena in summer 2022.
But Neuhaus, who has a £35 million release clause in his contract and scored a stunning winner against Bayern in the autumn, has wasted little time in distancing himself from those claims.
“I read that my move to FC Bayern in 2022 was already a done deal. I can clearly deny that here and now,” says the five-cap playmaker, a silky and elegant operator who idolises Toni Kroos and Mesut Ozil.
“I haven’t signed a contract anywhere except with Borussia Monchengladbach. I feel very much at home there at the moment.”

Neuhaus didn’t exactly rule out a future switch to the perennial Bundesliga champions, however, with the one-time 1860 Munich starlet admitting he would be open to a Bavarian homecoming.
“Home is a very important point for me. I can well imagine living in Markt Kaufering again later.”
In February, Kicker reported Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are also admirers of Neuhaus, alongside a currently managerless Tottenham.
And while Liverpool appear to be prioritising a more physical midfield option following Gini Wijnaldum’s departure, Neuhaus would certainly give the 2020 Premier League champions a different dimension in the final third.
