Brendan Rodgers walked away from Scottish Premiership champions Celtic on Tuesday, returning to the Premier League with Leicester City.

A number of Celtic fans were understandably furious when Brendan Rodgers walked away with two months of the season remaining.
On Tuesday, the Northern Irishman brought an end to his trophy-laden spell at Parkhead, returning to the Premier League to take over at Leicester City.
And Rodgers’ decision to leave has earned him plenty of criticism north of the border with some die hard Celtic supporters claiming that Leicester represents a big step down compared to one of the most historic clubs in European football.
But reports in The Sun about Leicester’s summer transfer plans perhaps shine a light on why Rodgers felt that he needed to leave Parkhead to further his career.
The report claims that the 47-year-old will be handed a £200 million transfer war-chest to build The Foxes in his image with Callum Wilson, the £40 million-rated striker who has scored 10 Premier League goals for Bournemouth this season, emerging as his top target.

Clearly, Leicester are going to back their manager with funds, which is not exactly what happened in his final few months at Celtic.
Rodgers made no secret that he had been frustrated by the lack of investment at the Scottish Premiership champions, indicating to the Scottish Sun that Celtic failed to buy the requisite quality after losing John McGinn to Aston Villa.
This was not the only time that Rodgers aired his grievances with Celtic missing out on a number of his top targets. At Leicester, he might have found a club more willing to fund his ambitions.
