Bryan Gil is already being linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs only signed the 20-year-old winger from Sevilla during the summer.
But after 52 minutes of Premier League football and zero starts in this competition, English football is proving difficult for Gil to acclimate to.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona may be interested in offering the Spaniard an escape route during the January transfer window.
Here’s how some Tottenham fans have reacted to this speculation on Twitter:
Not going anywhere
Lilywhites fans can rest assure knowing that Gil is going absolutely nowhere.
At 20, the youngster was signed as a long-term investment and really, a difficult first year or so is completely par for the course.
Fabio Paratici had a brilliant record at Juventus with regards to transfers and there’s nothing to suggest so far that Gil is going to flop at Tottenham.
If Barca want him, it’s because they identify him as someone with plenty of potential, which he is and that’s why Spurs signed him in the first place.
The player himself might be a little restless but, again, that’s to be expected at such a young age, in totally different surroundings.
