It’s easy to feel a bit sorry for Sead Kolasinac at Arsenal.
The former Schalke powerhouse is very much a fringe player under Mikel Arteta in North London,
In September, while playing for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kolasinac was on the receiving end of a horror challenge that ultimately didn’t cause too much trouble.
And sadly, the same thing happened to the Arsenal defender on Saturday – but this time, there could be serious damage.
Kolasinac, who earns £100,000 per week at the Emirates Stadium, was carried off the field after 39 minutes of his country’s World Cup qualifier with Finland.
Right-back Jukka Raitala was red carded for sinking his studs into the Gunners man’s ankle, bending it.
And after reviewing the pictures, Dr. Rajpal Brar, a verified doctor on Twitter, claimed that Kolasinac might’ve done his ankle ligaments.
Nasty
Based on the photo, it’s a nasty looking injury and it seems optimistic to believe Kolasinac will shake it off quickly.
There’s no official prognosis available but going by the evidence, he could be set for a spell on the sidelines.
Arsenal are protected to some extent.
With Kieran Tierney back, and Nuno Tavares ripping it up lately, Mikel Arteta isn’t short on left-back options.
But even still, injuries of this nature are never nice and the Spanish coach will certainly be disappointed for the player.
