Rodney Marsh has said on Twitter that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta brought on Daniel Ceballos too late in the match against Manchester City.

Arsenal suffered a 1-0 defeat to City at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the Premier League this evening.

Raheem Sterling’s goal after just two minutes proved to be the difference between the two sides.

Ceballos, on loan from Real Madrid, did not start the match, but the Spain international came on as a substitute in the 86th minute.

Former City forward Marsh believes that the 24-year-old should have been brought on at the start of the second half.

According to WhoScored, Ceballos had a pass accuracy of 75% and took five touches.

Disappointing display from Arsenal

City may have won by just one goal, but the Citizens were the better team and were superior to Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta’s side had just one shot on target and earned only one corner, according to BBC Sport.

It was a disappointing performance from the Gunners, but perhaps manager Arteta will be pleased that his side did not concede more than just one goal to a side that are looking very likely to win the Premier League title this season.
