Javier Manquillo has been speaking to The Telegraph about life at Newcastle, after the takeover finally went though.
What’s the story?
Well, Amanda Staveley and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia have arrived to shove Mike Ashley out of Tyneside.
As a result, the mood at Newcastle has changed drastically, to the point where Manquillo discusses signing Kylian Mbappé in his interview!
The £4.5m man also commented on Steve Bruce, in comments made before the 60-year-old was sacked today.
Speaking about his boss, Manquillo said: “He’s working normally, he wants to start to get back on track and we’ll see what happens in the end. I have read that there is talk of Gerrard and Lampard, but our manager now is Steve Bruce and we support him without hesitation.”
It’s interesting to see the Spaniard acknowledge talk of Gerrard or Lampard arriving at St James’ Park.
As things stand, Graeme Jones will oversee Saturday’s clash against Crystal Palace, although Sky Sports believe Paulo Fonseca is an option for PIF and Staveley.
Who else could replace Steve Bruce at Newcastle?

Since the takeover went through, there have been many names associated with Bruce’s job.
According to the Mirror, Newcastle have spoken to Eddie Howe, who could even be hired before Saturday’s game against Crystal Palace.
Another report, this time from AS, said that Newcastle’s new owners are inspired by Atletico Madrid’s model, and want to poach Diego Simeone.

Many others have been linked with Bruce’s job, although it’s hard to tell what is paper talk and what is genuine.
Whatever happens, Bruce deserved the sack.
Takeover or no takeover, Newcastle are yet to win a game in the Premier League this season, and there is currently a very real risk of relegation.
