As the January transfer window draws to a close, Arsenal fans are eagerly anticipating any potential new signings that could strengthen the team.

With the Gunners currently sitting at the top of the league, manager Mikel Arteta will be looking to add quality and depth to his team in order to maintain their title challenge.

Arsenal have already secured the signings of Leandro Trossard from Brighton and Jakub Kiwior from Legia Warsaw, but fans will be hoping for one more addition to the squad in the shape of a midfielder.

One player that has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates is Moises Caicedo of Brighton. The Ecuadorian midfielder has been in impressive form this season, catching the eye of many clubs, including Arsenal. However, with Brighton holding firm on his high asking price, it remains to be seen if the Gunners will be able to secure his signature.

Another player that has been linked with a move to Arsenal is Youri Tielemans from Leicester City. With Arsenal needing to strengthen their midfield, Tielemans could be a valuable addition to the team at a cheaper price than Caicedo.

Meanwhile, Jorginho has emerged as a late target for Arsenal, and it’s believed that he’s close to signing for the club too.

With that in mind, we’ve had a go at predicting Arsenal’s post-deadline day starting XI.

In goal, Aaron Ramsdale will continue to be the first-choice shot-stopper, with his solid performances this season helping Arsenal ascend to the top of the league. The back four is likely to consist of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba and Ben White. However, for the sake of this exercise, Kiwior is in the XI.

The midfield will be where the new signings could be made. Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka have been starters in the centre of midfield, but with the arrival of Jorginho, Tielemans or Caicedo, one of them could be pushed out.

In our team, Jorginho is the player who arrives. While Arsenal want Caicedo, the Seagulls’ determination to keep the Ecuadorian could mean that the Gunners have to look at an alternative.

Up top, Bukayo Saka, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli are all likely to start, but we’ve put Trossard in the team to highlight the new arrivals.

The Gunners will be hoping that these signings can help them to maintain their title challenge and secure a first triumph in 19 years.
