The latest news relating to Chelsea, Southampton, Liverpool, Watford and Newcastle United.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea have agreed a £23million deal to sign Davide Zappacosta from Torino.
That is an initial fee with the prospect of add-ons if certain criteria are met, and assuming the 25-year-old passes his medical he will be a welcome addition for a Chelsea squad in desperate need of more options as they bid to defend their title while challenging in Europe.
Zappacosta has been at Torino since 2015 and he has been capped four times for the Italian national side, so Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will be well aware what he is getting for his money.

In other news, Sky Sports claims Marvin Zeegelaar has arrived in Watford ahead of his proposed move from Sporting Lisbon.
The fee for his signature is believed to be in the region of £3million and he should complete his medical later today.

Moving on, Sky Sports claims Southampton have received no deadline day bids for centre-back Virgil van Dijk.
The Dutchman has been strongly linked with Liverpool during the current transfer window, while the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal would also benefit from a player of his quality.
However as things stand it looks like van Dijk is staying put at St. Mary’s and Southampton fans will be beaming if he is still their player tomorrow morning.
And finally, the Shields Gazette claims Newcastle United defender Achraf Lazaar looks set to stay at St. James’ Park despite earlier reports suggesting he would be on the move.
The player was allegedly told to find a new club by Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez but if the latest report is true he will now stay at the Mapgies until at least January.
