Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and West Bromwich Albion are amongst the clubs to feature in the latest deadline day roundup.

Spurs loan out Carter-Vickers

Stoke City have confirmed on their official website that Cameron Carter-Vickers has joined from Tottenham on a season-long loan deal.

The Spurs centre-back becomes the Potters’ ninth signing of the summer, and heads for his fourth loan spell in the Championship.

Iwobi’s Everton move unlikely

Alex Iwobi of Arsenal passes the ball under pressure from Wilfred Zaha of Palace during the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Arsenal FC at Selhurst Park on October 28, 2018...

The Daily Mail reports on its live transfer feed (8/8; 14:08) that Everton making a fresh move for Alex Iwobi is looking unlikely after Arsenal rejected their initial £30 million bid.

The Toffees had been expected to return with a new offer, but that is now reportedly looking unlikely with the window only open for a couple more hours.

Austin passes medical as West Brom announce Diangana

Charlie Austin has passed his medical and is all set to complete a permanent move from Southampton to West Brom, according to Sky Sports’ live transfer blog (8/8; 14:06).

The striker has been left out of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s plans throughout pre-season, and is now reportedly set to join the Baggies for £4 million, with Austin signing a two-year deal that includes an option for a further year.

Austin looks set to follow Grady Diangana through the door at the Hawthorns with West Brom confirming on their official website that they have signed the West Ham youngster on loan for the season.

Villa done for deadline day

And finally, Dean Smith has confirmed, as reported by Sky Sports’ live transfer blog (8/8; 13:54), that Aston Villa have no plans to make further signings in the final hours of the transfer window.

Dean Smith head coach of Aston Villa gestures during the pre-season friendly match between RB Leipzig and Aston Villa at Red Bull Arena on August 03, 2019 in Leipzig, Germany.

Villa have put a number of their Premier League rivals to shame with the amount of business that they have done this summer, and continue to be linked with players such as Jean-Kevin Augustin (via Sky Sports). But Smith has played down the chances of any further business taking place.

It will be interesting to see whether the Villa boss is just playing his cards close to his chest.
