Arsenal are snatching Real Madrid scout Paulo Henrique Xavier and Gunners fans have reason to be excited after his involvement in signing Rodrygo.
Arsenal have largely been getting it right in the transfer market under Edu.
The Gunners have become Premier League title challengers – arguably favourites – with some smart moves in the transfer market.
The likes of William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Ben White, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Jesus have all been signed in the Edu era.
Arsenal will continue to push for excellence under Edu and that means a rather exciting appointment has been agreed…
Arsenal set to land Real Madrid scout Paulo Henrique Xavier
The Athletic report that scout Paulo Henrique Xavier has decided to leave his role with Real Madrid in order to join Arsenal.
It’s stated that Xavier has actually already started work with Arsenal and will be operating in South America.
Xavier already knows Edu; the pair worked together in the Brazilian Football Confederation and are now reuniting at Arsenal.
Xavier previously worked as a scout at Manchester United before joining Real Madrid in 2017.
The Brazilian became a key part of Juni Calafat’s scouting team at Real Madrid and he is understood to have played a key role in the signing of winger Rodrygo.

Marca reported in 2018 that Xavier and Calafat had masterminded a move to bring Rodrygo to Real in a huge €45million (£39million) move from Santos.
Rodrygo has now become a superstar, racking up 10 goals and six assists for Real this season.
The 22-year-old is one of the top young wingers in world football and Xavier was seemingly vital in signing him at just 17.
Rodrygo has formed a devastating duo alongside fellow Brazilian Vinicius Junior and they should cause havoc for Real for years to come.
That kind of talent spotting will excite Arsenal supporters, and they will be hoping to see some Rodrygo-like talents arrive in North London with Xavier now on board.
Edu clearly rates Xavier highly and knows all about him from their time together in Brazil.
To be such a key part of Calafat’s much-praised recruitment approach speaks to Xavier’s ability in scouting and this feels like a major coup for Arsenal.
This will hopefully lead to some exciting deals for Arsenal and fans will hope to see the next Rodrygo sign for the Gunners rather than Real, who have enjoyed success in the Brazilian market in recent times.
