One Liverpool forward has given an update on his future at Anfield amid reported interest from Hansi Flick’s Barcelona.

Arne Slot is the new man at the Liverpool helm with the former Feyenoord manager replacing Jurgen Klopp, who decided to end his nine year association with the club.

How the club will perform next season under a new manager is unclear but the Anfield club are just one or two top class additions away from being in the Premier League title race.

The club are keen on defensive additions this summer as well as a forward signing. Luis Diaz has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer.

Diaz on Barcelona interest

The Colombian forward has been a rather mixed signing at Anfield with the former FC Porto winger, at times, dazzling but then other times he looks like he’s struggling.

Speaking to Colombian outlet Noticias Caracol, the winger was asked about his future with a move to La Liga reportedly on the cards.

“I’m very happy there in Liverpool, it’s a great team and club, I always wanted to play there, so I’m very happy, I’m calm. I’m not thinking about anything else, I’m thinking about the Colombian National Team, which is where we are,” Diaz said.

“We are happy to be honest, calm because we are reaping good things, we are building a family more than a team and that is key for what is coming, which is a very important competition.”

Diaz vital for Slot

The future of Liverpool’s talismanic figure Mohamed Salah remains uncertain with HITC reporting that the Egyptian remains of interest to the Saudi Pro League.

Last summer, the Middle Eastern league were plucking some of the finest names that European football had to offer and the same thing could well happen this season.

As for Diaz, HITC have previously reported that Liverpool are keen on opening contract talks with key players and the Colombian is one of those looking for a new deal.
