Liam Rosenior has made an immediate impact at Chelsea, with the Blues winning six of their first eight matches under his guidance.

He’ll be looking to maintain that form as his side head to Molineux to face a Wolves team sitting bottom of the table.

But while results have been good, Rosenior will be worried about a growing list of injuries piling up over recent weeks.

Jamie Gittens is the latest player to join that group, and it looks like he’ll be out for quite some time after suffering a torn hamstring.

With the January transfer window now closed, there’s no way to bring in a direct replacement, so the club may need to look internally for solutions.

In a recent post on Instagram, Chelsea fan and influencer Alex Goldberg said he would like to see either Jesse Derry or Ryan Kavuma-McQueen get an opportunity while Gittens is out.

First-team player Jorrel Hato appeared to support the idea, as he was seen liking the post about giving the young players a chance.

Under Rosenior’s guidance, they have reason for optimism. He has already shown during his time at Strasbourg that he is not afraid to rely on young talent when needed.

Rosenior weighing up Chelsea academy talent

Chelsea have wasted no time settling under Liam Rosenior, winning six of their first eight matches since he took over as manager.

Rosenior will be aiming to maintain his perfect league record when Chelsea visit bottom-of-the-table Wolves. One growing issue is the number of injuries building up across his squad.

The latest setback involves Jamie Gittens, who is expected to miss significant time after suffering a hamstring tear. And with the transfer window now closed, Chelsea can’t bring in reinforcements from outside the club and may need to look within their own ranks to cover his absence.

Chelsea fan and social media figure Alex Goldberg suggested on Instagram that either Jesse Derry or Ryan Kavuma-McQueen should be considered for an opportunity during Gittens’ spell out of action. Jorrel Hato appeared to support the idea by liking the post, adding some weight behind both young players’ chances of being noticed further.

Rosenior’s history suggests he might just give them a chance. The manager built a reputation at Strasbourg for trusting young players and getting the best out of them.
