According to The Chronicle, Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare is interested in joining Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that the 21-year-old midfielder will study Newcastle’s propose carefully if the Premier League club make a bid for him this summer.

The report has added that the France Under-21 international turned down a move to the Magpies in the January transfer window and decided to stay put at Lille.

BBC Sport reported on January 31, 2020 that Newcastle’s £35 million move for the youngster had failed, with manager Steve Bruce saying that although Lille had their bid accepted, the midfielder himself did not want to switch.

Interestingly, Sport has reported that Newcastle retain an interest in the midfielder and want to sign him this summer.

During the 2018-19 campaign, the youngster – described by The Daily Mail – as “the new Paul Pogba”, made five starts and 13 substitute appearances in the league, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.

Uncertainty
