Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has revealed that everyone accepted Nicolas Pepe’s apology after his red card, in the London Evening Standard.
Pepe was sent off in Arsenal’s last Premier League match against Leeds United, after an off the ball incident.
The act of petulance has caused the Ivorian to receive great criticism.
But Mustafi says that Pepe has admitted his wrong-doing to his teammates, and the whole Arsenal squad is on his side.
“I think the team responded really well and I think it was important that Nico lifted his hand and said sorry to everyone, and he’s still young as well,” the £35 million man said (BBC Sport).
“Everyone accepted it and I think coming here today and scoring a goal, he helped the team and I think going forward today he asked a lot of questions.
“This is the response that we all wanted from him and I hope that we can keep supporting him and giving him the confidence that he needs to score those goals.”

Pepe did indeed make a good start to making amends at Arsenal, as he put in a man of the match display against Molde last night.
The Gunners’ record signing was a constant threat, as Arsenal picked up a 3-0 win in the Europa League.
Unfortunately for Pepe, he will have to miss Arsenal’s next three league matches, though.
That is hardly ideal for Mikel Arteta’s side as they have already struggled going forward, and they have some challenging games against Wolves and Tottenham coming up.
