Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been pictured alongside Leicester City’s James Maddison in pre-season training, as the Liverpool player posted on Instagram.
In the past, footballers would hardly do any training in the off-season, if any, and then turn up to pre-season where they would get back to fitness.
But now it’s very different with players in top-notch shape on their first day back to pre-season, as both Oxlade-Chamberlain and Maddison will probably be no different.
They probably won’t be fitter than James Milner, though, who at the age of 36, he will probably out-do everyone in the pre-season tests.
Nonetheless, this was the message Oxlade-Chamberlain posted on his IG ahead of the new season.
WILL OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN STILL BE A LIVERPOOL PLAYER NEXT SEASON?
The 28-year-old has one-year left on his contract and he, either signs a new deal, or the Reds get some sort of transfer fee for him this summer.
Players like Adam Lallana, and most recently Divock Origi, have left for nothing, so there is also the chance that he could go down that same road.
But surely the Reds are better off getting a fee for him if they are going to let him go?
There have been some surprising names keen to add the £35 million man (BBC Sport) to their ranks, including Manchester United.
Surely that won’t happen, with Aston Villa and West Ham United’s names also mentioned, then that is a more realistic move for the Englishman.
