Patrick Bamford has given a tell-all interview to talkSPORT, where he’s spoken all about his relationship with Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds.

The former Chelsea striker revealed that the Argentine is ‘always’ demanding more from each and every one of the Leeds squad

Bamford told talkSPORT: ‘He’s always demanding more of every one of us and pushing us to be better. He’s not a very one-to-one hands on coach. We have individual meetings the night before a game where we go through the previous game and he tells you what you did well, what you did badly and what he expects with the game coming tomorrow.’

Bielsa deserves plenty of credit for his handling of the English forward, who earns £35,000-a-week at Elland Road according to Spotrac.

The Grantham-born attacker has previously failed to impress in the Premier League at five different clubs.

In spells with Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Norwich, Burnley and Middlesbrough, Bamford only netted one Premier League goal, which came for the latter club in the 2016/17 season.

For Bielsa to coax world-class form out of the 27-year-old, which has seen him net six goals in six Premier League games so far this term, is mightily impressive management.

Judging by Bamford’s comments, it’s evident that the Argentine squeezes these high levels of performance from his players by simply demanding more and more of them every day.

Bielsa doesn’t allow his squad to rest on their laurels and get complacent, which is resulting in some excellent football and some brilliant results too.

The ex-Marseille boss has overseen a phenomenal run of form since guiding Leeds back to the Premier League last term.

The Yorkshire-based outfit currently sit sixth, just three points off the summit.
