Leon Balogun has admitted that he wishes he had joined Rangers years ago.
The 34-time Nigeria international signed for Steven Gerrard’s side last summer and played a role in helping the Gers to number 55.
It was Rangers’ first Premiership title in a decade and one that came surprisingly easy, with the Gers finishing 25 points clear of second-placed Celtic.
At 33, Balogun is very much in the twilight of his senior career.
And the former Brighton & Hove Albion centre-back has revealed that he has told people that his only regret is finding this project so late.
He told The Sun: “Last season was amazing. It was my first major title so for me the last year has been incredible. I told a lot of my peers I wish I had been at this club earlier in my career as it has brought out a side in me, a more competitive side, which I have embraced. It’s been amazing to be part of that special season and that special title.”
