Ben Mee has been speaking to FootballJOE about all 20 Premier League teams, including Newcastle, as the Burnley man was asked to play Word Association.

What’s the story?

Well, if you aren’t familiar with the game in this context, it simply involves giving a one-word description of each Premier League club.

As Mee moved through England’s top-flight in alphabetical order, anticipation built as he got closer to Newcastle after the Magpies pinched Chris Wood.

According to the Daily Mail, Sean Dyche and the Clarets were furious after Newcastle activated the 30-year-old’s £25m release clause.

So, what did Mee respond?

Quite appropriately, the 32-year-old simply described Newcastle as “rich”.

In truth, he was probably holding back on what he really wanted to say.

Newcastle’s move for Wood plunges Burnley into even more trouble.

The Clarets sit 18th with 11 points to their name, and have now lost their talisman to the side sitting in 19th.

It’s far from ideal, to say the least.

Burnley vs Newcastle could be a classic

Amazingly, Newcastle face Burnley on the final day of the Premier League season, in what could effectively be a play-off for survival.

Everything is set up for it to be a Premier League classic, especially if Wood is involved in the winning goal.

The clash at Turf Moor could have another interesting element to it, as 90min believe Burnley are eyeing Andy Carroll as a potential replacement for Wood.

If the 33-year-old Geordie – who came through Newcastle’s academy – scored the goal which relegated them, it would be quite the story.
