The Leeds United defender did everything asked of him against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Easter Monday.

Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson had mixed fortunes on Monday evening, with the Swede arguably at fault for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ winning goal after putting in an otherwise stellar performance for the Whites.
The centre-back has been nothing short of sensational for Leeds since arriving at Elland Road on loan and only his harshest critic would overlook all his brilliant work in a clash Garry Monk’s side were desperate to win.
Unfortunately, Nouha Dicko scored the only goal of the game to leave Leeds fans and players alike wondering if their campaign is about to come apart at the seams.
Around his uncharacteristic mistake, Jansson delivered another masterclass in defending, even if some fans will wonder how on earth he escaped a yellow card after some questionable moments.
| Passing Accuracy | Effective Clearance | Effective Head Clearance | Duel Won | Aerial Won | Interception Won | Ball Recovery | Dispossessed | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pontus Jansson | 80% | 17 | 15 | 10 | 9 | 2 | 9 | 0 | 90 |
Against Wolves, Jansson made an outstanding 32 effective clearances (17 with his feet and 15 with his head).
He also won 10 duels, nine aerial battles and made nine ball recoveries, while he was not dispossessed in the entire game.
With an 80 per cent pass accuracy and a dominant all-round display Jansson proved yet again what all the fuss is about.
But only time will tell if he remains at Elland Road beyond this summer, despite that previously looking a certainty.
