The Liverpool ace has been linked with a move to Juventus this summer.
News broke today regarding Juventus’ interest in signing Reds midfielder Emre Can, with Italian media outlet Tuttosport claiming that the Old Lady are prepared to play £31 million to secure the Germany international’s signature.
The 23-year-old is a top quality player – it would be foolish to argue that he is not, but with just 12 months remaining on his current deal at Anfield, there is a genuine risk that they could lose him for nothing next year, so £31 million doesn’t seem to be too bad of an offer, and one that Liverpool will surely consider at the very least.

Can moved to Anfield form Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2014, for a fee believed to be in the region of £10 million, and has gone on to make 129 appearances for the Reds since then.
He hasn’t quite hit the heights that were expected of him upon his arrival on Merseyside, however, and with Jürgen Klopp desperate to add a player in the mould of Naby Keita to his ranks this summer, £31 million for Can might come in handy for the Liverpool boss.
As is the case with most player sales, the fanbase will be split on whether it is good business, and Emre Can’s potential exit will be no different.
One thing is for sure though, the longer contract talks between the club and player rumble on, the more his value will depreciate, so selling him to the Italian champions might not be a bad idea for Liverpool.
Then Klopp can focus on bringing in the players he thinks will help guide them to success on all fronts this term.
