One-time Tottenham Hotspur star Luka Modric has been named in the top 100 players of all time, and he is pretty high up the list.
The 38-year-old didn’t just land himself in 19th place by GDC Media, but he was ahead of some generational stars, such as Brazil icon Ronaldinho and perhaps the greatest Premier League player of all time, Thierry Henry.
Still going strong for Real Madrid and Croatia, Luka Modric is perhaps his nation’s greatest-ever player and a modern-day great at the Bernabeu.
From an individual standpoint, perhaps the highlight of Modric’s career was when he won the Ballon d’Or in 2018.
It wasn’t all rosy for Modric because when he left Tottenham in 2018 for £30 million (BBC Sport), at the time, he was 26 and he didn’t have a trophy to his name, not forgetting his early struggles in Madrid.
But since heading for the Tottenham exit door, he has gone from strength to strength winning a staggering five European Cups along the way.

Modric one of Tottenham’s greats
During the Premier League era, there have been some great players that have donned Spurs colours from Gareth Bale, and Luka Modric to the recently departed Harry Kane.
And it could be argued that Modic, with his genius in the middle of the park, is perhaps the best of the lot.
Kane and Bale are certainly in the conversation, as is the fan favourite Jurgen Klinsmann and the underrated street footballer, Mousa Dembele.
