Things have gone from bad to worse for Everton winger Yannick Bolasie.
The former Crystal Palace star, a £30 million signing back in the summer of 2016, was on the fringes of things at Goodison Park under Carlo Ancelotti this season.
But Bolasie continued to fight for his place on and off the training field, declaring on social media that he’s been bossing it at Finch Farm behind the scenes, though the Italian coach delivered a hammer blow earlier this month by revealing that the 31-year-old was free to leave.
And it looked like a deadline-day switch to Middlesbrough might have materialised, but it appears to have collapsed before the 5pm cut-off point.
On Twitter, Bolasie revealed that he was disappointed that a switch to Neil Warnock’s side failed, but vowed to keep fighting for his place under Ancelotti on Merseyside.
Everton host Liverpool in a Merseyside derby this afternoon and although Bolasie is highly unlikely to be involved, he was named in the original Premier League squad.
Ancelotti must post a revised version of that list by October 20, however, and it’d be a huge suprise if the former Eagles star on it, at this point.
