Tottenham have been linked with Riyad Mahrez.
Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Leicester City ace Riyad Mahrez, according to The Telegraph.
Mahrez is keen to leave the Foxes for a new challenge, and Tottenham need a productive wide player after recent additions Clinton N’Jie and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou have flopped.
The report claims Leicester value Mahrez at £30 million.
Yet if he signs for Spurs, Mahrez might have some apologising to do.
Earlier this season the Algerian openly mocked Tottenham, labelling their title collapse as the funniest moment of last season.
He told FourFourTwo: “The funniest moment [of last season]? I think it was when Tottenham were 2-0 ahead of Chelsea.
“All the team were at [Jamie] Vardy’s house thinking ‘we’re probably not going to be champions tonight. I was like, ‘What’s the point of coming?!’ and then 2-1, 2-2. It was funny.”
Now the winger might be left pleading with Spurs to give him another crack at the Champions League, with Leicester set to miss out on qualification, currently sitting in ninth place.
His comments mean he might make him more apt as a Chelsea signing rather than Spurs, and The Telegraph report the Blues could show an interest if they elect to sell Willian.
