Weston McKennie has told the new Tottenham duo, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, to ‘take care of each other’, as he posted on his Instagram story.
The Juventus midfielder also added ‘see you soon’ and stated that he is going to ‘miss’ them.
After the pair’s deadline day moves were confirmed from Juventus, these are the messages McKennie sent to his now-former teammates.
To Kulusevski: “Good luck homie,” said McKennie. “I am going to miss you.
To Bentancur: “Wish you all the best. You and Kulu take care of each other. See you soon.”
There will be some Spurs fans hoping that McKennie joins them in north London one day because he has been touted for a move to the capital.
Tottenham were seemingly willing to pay a tad over £21 million for the USA international, but it seems as though they wanted £30 million for their hard-hitting midfielder.
With Antonio Conte in their ranks, Spurs will feel that they have the lure to attract many top players to their club.
It would be very helpful if they can secure Champions League football because it would help elevate their status.
If Kulusevski and Bentancur can have an early positive bounce, then there is a big chance they can secure those top four places.
Given the indifferent number of games in hand teams have, then it’s pretty difficult to gauge who really is in control in this race for Champions League football.
Whilst that can be debated, what is a pure fact is that Spurs were the only team to strengthen their squad from the teams they are battling in January.
