We’re now bang in the middle of the Premier League season, and with that, we feel it’s an appropriate time to judge summer signings.

Arsenal made plenty of fine moves, whereas Liverpool made just one.

Elsewhere, Burnley and Watford brought two of the most exciting attackers of the season so far to England, and for bargain fees.

There have been many success stories, so let’s take a look at the best performing summer signings of the Premier League season so far…

Aaron Ramsdale

As you can see, we’ve gone for Aaron Ramsdale in between the sticks.

Yes, the 23-year-old may have cost £30m, but he has repaid Arsenal’s faith with seven clean sheets in the Premier League, while his passing has also added another dimension to Mikel Arteta’s setup.

Nuno Tavares

Arteta and Edu did some good business back in the summer, as the £6.8m arrival of Nuno Tavares was an extremely smart move.

The Gunners suffered a lot in the absence of Kieran Tierney last term, but Tavares has been able to match the Scot’s energy up and down the left flank to ensure Arteta’s side do not suffer without the ex-Celtic man.

Marc Guéhi

Crystal Palace took a risk when spending £20m on Marc Guéhi before he’d kicked a ball in the Premier League, but it’s paid off.

The 21-year-old – captain of England’s Under-21 side – has started every Premier League game for the Eagles, scoring two goals.

Above all, his composure and passing ability from the back, alongside Joachim Andersen, has breathed new life into Crystal Palace.

Ibrahima Konaté

Like Ramsdale, this was another expensive addition at £36m, but a deal which should pay off in the long-term.

Ibrahima Konate is only 22, and he’s already shown plenty to suggest he’ll become a Premier League icon – Jürgen Klopp certainly moved quickly to secure a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk.

Tino Livramento

Chelsea are probably regretting this deal, as Tino Livramento has been one of the stars of the Premier League season so far.

The 19-year-old has started every Premier League game for the Saints, scoring one goal as his attacking intent lights up the right flank on a weekly basis.

Conor Gallagher

Where was this man on loan at West Brom last season?!

Conor Gallagher looks a player reborn under Patrick Vieira, and has already scored six Premier League goals this season.

The 21-year-old has also earned a maiden England cap while on loan at Selhurst Park – surely Thomas Tuchel will use him at Chelsea next season.

Boubakary Soumare

The £17m signing from Lille was a hefty investment, but it’s paid off for Leicester.

Boubakary Soumare has brought composure to the Foxes in his nine Premier League starts so far, and at 22, he’s surely only going to improve under Brendan Rodgers.

Billy Gilmour

Like Guéhi, Gallagher and Livramento, Billy Gilmour is another gem to emerge from Chelsea’s Cobham Academy.

There must be something in the water there, as the Scotland international has thrived on loan at Norwich.

Gilmour has made ten Premier League starts, winning two tackles per game while making 1.5 key passes per game (WhoScored).

If he continues to perform like this under Dean Smith, Norwich may have a chance of survival.

Demarai Gray

Few people sat up and took notice when Everton paid £1.7m for Demarai Gray back in June, but they’re certainly paying attention now.

The 25-year-old has scored five Premier League goals for the Toffees, and has looked like the only one trying at Goodison Park at times this season.

Emmanuel Dennis

Why did nobody else make a move for Emmanuel Dennis?!

At the time of writing, the 24-year-old has scored seven Premier League goals while also recording five assists.

Only Mohamed Salah has been involved in more Premier League goals this season – Dennis has been a revelation, to say the least.

Maxwel Cornet

It’s not often Burnley make a big-money signing, but Sean Dyche is certainly getting value from the £12.85m Maxwel Cornet.

The Ivorian has scored five Premier League goals in just eight starts, and seems to strike fear into opponents whenever he gets the ball.
