In our view, Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is turning into his side’s very own Kevin De Bruyne.

Odegaard is becoming Arsenal’s very own De Bruyne

The obvious that needs to specified is that Odegaard and De Bruyne are nothing alike in terms of their playing styles.

However, one aspect in which the Norwegian attacker seems to be following in the Manchester City talisman’s footsteps for Arsenal is his end product.

This season, the £30 million (Sky Sports) man’s goal and assist numbers have started to do justice to his spellbinding performances.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been in desperate need for a player in midfield who can put the numbers on the board, like De Bruyne has for more than half a decade at City.

Considering Gabriel Jesus has also never been an output machine, the onus seemed to have solely fallen on Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli on paper at the start of the season.

However, Martin Odegaard is showing signs of becoming Kevin De Bruyne-esque, with 6 goals and 2 assists in the Premier League already.

For context, the former Real Madrid sensation has as many league goals as the in-form Martinelli.

Also, just last season, Odegaard had 7 goals and 4 assists in the entirety of the league campaign.

However, the silky creator was not slated for his goal and assist stats, as his all-round displays were nothing short of sublime.

Odegaard seems to have become the protagonist in midfield Arsenal always needed

What differentiates Kevin De Bruyne from most No.10’s is that their overall showings are matched by constant end product.

It seemed as if Arsenal brought in the prolific Fabio Vieira in the summer to play that very role, with Martin Odegaard tasked to be the team’s David Silva in some ways.

However, Odegaard seems to have hit new levels by becoming the Gunners’ protagonist in the middle of the park.

While some may deem Vieira’s rawness as a crucial factor behind why is yet to become a regular starter, Arsenal’s No.8 getting the numbers is another key reason why.
