Crystal Palace and Chelsea have been credited with an interest in Roma defender Roger Ibanez. The Brazilian international is said to be leaving Rome this summer and the Premier League has been mentioned as a potential destination for the defender.
That’s according to Italian outlet Siamo La Roma, who claim that the Roma director Tiago Pinto, has set a €35 million (£30 million) price tag for the defender’s signature. There is reported interest from Germany as well as interest from sides in London.
Crystal Palace defender Joachim Anderson has been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, with The Athletic reporting back in June that Brentford had made an enquiry over the Danish defender’s availability and the likelihood of linking up with a fellow Dane in Thomas Frank. The former Fulham defender is also reportedly available for £20 million.
The Italian outlet has reported that this could lead to Palace pursuing Ibanez from Roma. The report states that Palace would be short of defenders and would have cash to burn hence why a move to Selhurst Park for Ibanez shouldn’t be ruled out.

Chelsea are in need of a centre-back
Chelsea’s reported interest in the Brazilian defender, however, doesn’t seem as serious. The report states that due to the injury suffered by Wesley Fofana, Chelsea could be ready to make an approach for the 24-year-old.
With a defender reportedly being looked at for the Blues according to the Daily Mail, the report has seemingly put two and two together about Chelsea’s interest.
Fulham have previously been credited with an interest in the Brazilian defender according to the iPaper but it seems their attention has turned to Benfica defender Morato according to the Daily Mail.
The report itself doesn’t mention interest from either side and it could be a case of linking Ibanez with a move to England as both Chelsea and Palace have earmarked centre-back as a position that needs addressing this summer.
