West Ham have been linked to Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.

Daniel Sturridge’s future at Liverpool is in doubt amid reports in The Mirror that the Reds are considering cashing in on the striker.

Sturridge has yet to score in the Premier League this season, although has made only four starts.

West Ham are one of the sides reported to be interested in the England international, and are currently the favourites with SkyBet at 5/1 to land the 27-year-old.

The Hammers have some talent in their ranks themselves, and one possibility Liverpool could look at is demanding a player plus cash deal.

Here are three West Ham players they should target…

Aaron Cresswell

Left-back Aaron Cresswell was on Liverpool’s books as a youngster, and has gone on to become an England international since leaving the club.

West Ham snapped him up from Ipswich three seasons ago, and he has been one of their key players ever since.

The left-back position is a problem area for the Reds with neither Alberto Moreno and James Milner real solutions, and Cresswell could become a long term option for them.

Sam Byram

Sam Byram was one of the most promising players in the Championship a year ago at Leeds, and has shown moments of quality at West Ham.

Still one for the future, the 23-year-old can play at right-back or on the wing, and Jurgen Klopp may be able to harness his attacking qualities well, if they can convince West Ham to give him up for Sturridge.

Reece Oxford

Reece Oxford is regarded by many as the future of English football, and potentially the best defender West Ham have had since Rio Ferdinand.

Yet his future at the club is uncertain, with the teenager yet to sign an extended contract.

Liverpool signing Oxford would be a major coup, and it would be a difficult one to pull off, but if it is the difference for West Ham between signing proven goalscorer Sturridge, or missing out on him to a rival and even getting pulled into a relegation battle, they may have to consider it.
