Chelsea and Manchester City have done some interesting transfer dealings over the years.

Kevin de Bruyne once rocked the colours at Stamford Bridge, but he earned his legendary status wearing the colours of Manchester City.

And now, Chelsea are thanking their lucky stars that Manchester City sold Cole Palmer to them last summer because he has been a revelation.

The 22-year-old was probably the signing of the summer during the recently-concluded campaign, probably only Declan Rice can argue and the best player in the Premier League.

Scoring 22 league goals and supplying 11 assists in your debut campaign for any club is crazy, especially for one that is still stalling and finding itself.

Chelsea paid £42.5 million for Palmer’s services and now Richard Keys thinks that he is worth ‘three times’ what the London club paid for him, as he posted on Twitter.

The TV presenter was being critical and reacting to suggestions that Kevin de Bruyne could leave Manchester City this summer amid interest from Saudi Arabia – he has been offered a dream exit, as HITC revealed.

Keys thinks that Pep Guardiola has a lot to answer for because the replacement for de Bruyne, should he leave, is now at Chelsea when he probably should still be at the Etihad.

Will Kevin de Bruyne move to Saudi Arabia?

“If de Bruyne does leave City this summer, some serious questions should be asked about Guardiola’s decision-making,” said Keys.

“Palmer was the obvious replacement & his value is now 3 times what Chelsea paid for him.”

Cole Palmer brave to leave Manchester City for Chelsea

The England international, who will be heading to Euro 2024, had it all in his hands at Manchester City and could have stayed on.

Guardiola had just guided the club to the Treble. Yes, Palmer wasn’t a regular, but he was still part of the group.

Yet, he was brave enough to walk out of the door and, at that time, join a team in England’s bottom half and in a struggle.

From the perspective of his own career and progression, it has been a huge step up and he is getting rewarded for that bravery.
