Harry Kane shone for Tottenham Hotspur against the Blues – but Nacer Chadli was just as good.
After Tottenham beat Chelsea 5-3 at White Hart Lane last night, opposition fans joked that the north London side will be making DVDs of the win for years to come.
Whether that will quite be the case is unclear, of course, but there is no overstating just how big a triumph this was for Spurs.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side looked the real deal – regardless of the fact they still conceded three goals with some sloppy defending. They were playing the Premier League leaders, after all, and that’s exactly what made this win so impressive.
It was a sterling team display from Tottenham – but certain individuals were especially good. Harry Kane looked world class, while Danny Rose and Kyle Walker were brilliant going forward. One, in particular, stood out, however…

Indeed, as Opta stats show, Nacer Chadli was immense against Chelsea.
Christian Eriksen was an unsurprising star v the Blues but Chadli even outshone him. Two chances created and two dribbles won eventually led to a goal and assist for the Belgian, who took 61 touches and even won three tackles.
And the stats themselves don’t quite do justice to the 25-year-old’s display, anyway. Chadli was simply superb against Jose Mourinho’s men and showed a slick touch and ability to turn, with pace and flair on the ball to go with it.
Things are certainly looking good for Tottenham this morning – and 2015 could be a year to remember for Chadli if he has started as he means to go on.
