Leeds United should make a move for free agent Gary Cahill.

Leeds United are looking for a replacement for Pontus Jansson and free agent Gary Cahill should become an option.
Just because Cahill is free, should mean he would be a budget solution. His wages should be costly.
Even at the age of 33, Cahill has plenty to offer a Championship side.
Here’s three reasons Leeds should consider a move…
Experience
Cahill may be turning 34 in December, but his age can be an asset for Leeds.
The former Chelsea defender has played at the highest level, winning Premier League and Champions League medals, and also starring for England.
He could even be an upgrade on Pontus Jansson, and would help offer captain Liam Cooper guidance, with the Scot having a tendency to be error prone.

He’s fresh
Cahill is coming off a season where he has played the least fewest games in his career for the last decade.
He made only two Premier League appearances after being overlooked by Maurizio Sarri and played four Europa League games.
This means that Cahill is rested physically, and will also be motivated to kick on with a fresh challenge and prove a point.
Leeds can offer him a real challenge, to lead their promotion charge.

Physically dominant
Jansson’s strength in the air needs replacing and loanee Ben White is an unknown quantity.
Cahill made his name in Sam Allardyce’s physically imposing Bolton team and is a threat from set pieces.
This is just what Leeds need, and Cahill is perfectly suited for the challenge of Championship football.
