The first three episodes of All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur came out on Amazon Prime on Monday.
Dele Alli featured heavily, acknowledging he didn’t have his best season in 2018/19 and trying to improve under Jose Mourinho.
So far on the documentary, we’re seeing the mini-resurgence Alli enjoyed under Mourinho but by the end of the season, he was struggling again.
As the spotlight falls on Alli again, we’ve picked out three reasons he can get back to his very best in the coming season.
Mourinho clearly likes him
As Mourinho made clear in the documentary, he rates Alli. He just wants to try and get the right motivation for the Englishman.
The Portuguese made reference to Sir Alex Ferguson’s desire to get him to Manchester United, because of his mentality and aggression.
That is something Mourinho can definitely relate to. If he can tap back into Alli’s meaner side and get that fight back, the pair could be a perfect duo.
Mourinho took Frank Lampard to the next level during the mid-2000s and would hope to do something similar with Alli.

The Euros are looming
England are in Nations League action in the coming days and Alli is once again outside the squad.
Alli was a part of that run to the World Cup semi-finals but has dramatically dropped out of the picture now.
With under a year left until the re-arranged European Championship, Alli needs to hit form quickly if he is to muscle back into Gareth Southgate’s plans.
With the exception of Jordan Henderson, England’s midfield is hardly set in stone, so there’s still a chance for Alli if he starts next season on fire.

Kane is back to his best
When Dele broke onto the scene in 2015-16, his relationship with Harry Kane was outstanding.
The England skipper had his injury problems last season but looked back to his very best in the final few matches.
If Kane can push defences back, it creates more space for Alli. Dele can also dart in behind when Kane comes deeper.
If they can get their relationship back to where it was in that debut season, Alli will be approaching something close to his best form.
