Alves is one of the most decorated players in modern football history. He has won the Champions League three times, plus six La Liga and two 2 Ligue 1 titles. Just this month he lifted the Copa America with Brazil.
A move for Alves would show Spurs are serious about winning trophies, signing a proven winner. If Alves chooses them, it will show how much he believes in their project too.
This could be terrific for Tottenham’s ambition, and help attract further top quality players to the club.

Put simply, on a one-year deal, Alves is better than both Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier.
Neither player were satisfactory options last season, but Spurs have struggled to sell either this transfer window, which has limited their own ambition to address the position.
