Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly close to landing Bruno Fernandes.

Tottenham Hotspur are ‘on the verge of striking a deal’ for Bruno Fernandes, The Mail report.

Fernandes is expected to leave Sporting before the transfer deadline.

Here is a look at three questions we have arising from the report.

Can fans trust it?

The claims are thin on detail, with no transfer fee or wages mentioned.

The Fernandes claim is within part of a larger report about Christian Eriksen.

Spurs have been linked with Fernandes on and off over the last two months, but especially so over the past week.

This one appears to be heading in the right direction.

Does this mean the end for Christian Eriksen?

It’s likely. Eriksen is out of contract next season and a move for Fernandes would reduce his playing time.

The report states Eriksen is after a big pay day from his next move, showing a lack of loyalty towards Tottenham.

Do Spurs face competition?

Manchester United have been linked to Fernandes heavily over the transfer window, but The Mail suggests he is not currently on their radar.

AS have linked Real Madrid with a move for Fernandes in recent days but their interest is not seen as serious.
