Leeds United emissaries are said to have spent Friday night in Portugal

That Whites are not hardly known for frequenting that particular part of the Iberian peninsula, so did they have someone specific in mind?
Here are three players who may have caught the eye, including one who should be familiar to Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen:
Helder Tavares

Recent results have raised questions about some of Leeds’ central midfielders, a position they could look to strengthen in January. Tavares, who hails from Ronaldo Vieira’s home country, Cape Verde, scored Tondela’s goal on the night and may come into consideration.
Renan Bressan

A player whose name may ring a bell to those familiar with slightly older editions of Football Manager, and Christiansen too, having worked under the Dane at APOEL last season. Now 28, the Brazilian-born Belarusian set up the game’s opening goal for Chaves. But do Leeds need another number 10?
William

The 6ft striker has settled well at his new club Chaves, for whom he scored his fourth goal in eight games on Friday. Leeds aren’t exactly short up top, but may wish to keep their options open with Pierre-Michel Lasogga only on loan.
