Leeds United are still searching for a new manager.
Out of the running… Aitor Karanka
Leeds United remain on the hunt for a new manager and no longer does it seem that Aitor Karanka will land the role.
Karanka had been the bookies favourite for the past week but the Yorkshire Evening Post now report he is not in the running.
Pep Clotet and Claudio Ranieri are two names still in the running, but here is a look at three outside candidates who Leeds may consider…
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
Former QPR manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
Former Leeds striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was once a crowd favourite at Elland Road and has been linked with the job in the past.
He has had a mixed spell in management so far, impressing with Belgian side Royal Antwerp and then with Burton Albion.
He led the Brewers to promotion from League Two and set them on course to get out of League One before controversially quitting to join QPR.
His spell at Loftus Road was disappointing and he lasted only a year in charge, but will be better off for it and has experience managing in the Championship.
Alan Pardew
Former Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew
It was not so long ago that Alan Pardew was being considered as a contender for the England job and leading Crystal Palace into the FA Cup final.
Pardew has promotions on his CV with Reading and West Ham and once led Newcastle to a fifth placed finish in the Premier League.
He would be a safe choice as manager and is out of work since leaving Palace last December.
Gus Poyet

Former Brighton boss Gus Poyet was once regarded as one of football’s brightest managerial talents and should not be dismissed as a candidate.
The Uruguayan left Brighton after getting them into the Championship and then falling at the play-offs, joining Premier League side Sunderland.
After a bright start at Sunderland, Poyet floundered and has been unable to get back on track since.
He had spells at AEK Athens and Real Betis and is currently working at Shanghai Shenhua in China but he could be tempted if Leeds made an approach.
