Garry Monk is now the favourite with Sky Bet to get the manager’s job at Crystal Palace after stepping down from his position at Leeds United at the end of the 2016/17 season.

If Monk is given the role at Selhurst Park then there are likely to be some Leeds players tempted by joining him in the Premier League.

Here are three he might target.

Luke Ayling

It has been quite the rise for Ayling, who joined from Bristol City in the summer of 2016 and quickly established himself as the first choice right-back at Elland Road.

The 25-year-old has certainly learned his trade, signing for Yeovil Town after being released from the Arsenal academy and working his way up through the leagues – yet he is still young and ambitious enough to make an impact in the top flight and is arguably an upgrade on Martin Kelly.

He may be set to join the Whites on a permanent basis this summer, but the way Janssen impressed during his year on-loan from Torino suggests Monk would love to work with him again.

Palace need more options at centre-back, with Damien Delaney now 35 and Scott Dann and James Tomkins the only other natural choices and might look to scupper the deal for the 26-year-old.

Having top-scored in the Championship with 27 goals, Wood has been the one Leeds player many are predicting will leave for a Premier League side.

The one issue at the Eagles is they already have club record signing Christian Benteke as a striker, but with competition for the Belgian limited Wood might relish the challenge.
