As 2022 is set to bid farewell, we have made 3 bold predictions about Newcastle United in 2023.

Our 3 bold Newcastle predictions in 2023

Newcastle will get Champions League football

Yes, it is bold to suggest that Newcastle United secure Champions League qualification at the end of the 2022/2023 season.

But it also is not as far-fetched as predictions go to say Newcastle could do the unthinkable.

Even Pep Guardiola said back in October that the high-flying side could get top four this season (via GOAL).

For starters, the Magpies are just 2 points behind Manchester City after 15 Premier League games.

Defensively, Newcastle have conceded the joint-least number of goals alongside Arsenal.

Eddie Howe’s men are firing on all cylinders and are likely to bolster their squad in some capacity at the turn of the year.

With Manchester United still finding their feet under Erik ten Hag, things going from bad to worse for Chelsea and Tottenham yet to convince so far, it would be short-sighted to rule this bunch out of the top 4 race.

Eddie Howe will win Premier League Manager of the Season

Usually, the Premier League winning manager gets handed the award, which makes Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta the two biggest candidates currently.

However, Eddie Howe could be an exception to the rule, as he is doing a phenomenal job at Newcastle, especially this season.

While the Magpies could fall off slightly, that still keeps them in contention to finish in the top 6, which would be a major achievement.

And as a result, Howe could take home the accolade.

As Newcastle predictions for 2023 go, this one is rather tame.

One of our boldest predictions is that Newcastle stay unbeaten at home

So far in the 2022/2023 Premier League season, Newcastle have won 5 and drawn 4 at St. James’ Park.

As Manchester City learned in their 3-3 against Eddie Howe’s men, going away to the Magpies has become one of the toughest tasks in English football.

With St. James’ Park boasting one of, if not the best atmosphere in the division and Newcastle playing a breathless brand of football, they could well stay unbeaten at home in 2023.

While all these predictions are bold to say the least, one should never rule this Newcastle side out, especially as they look set to get even better in 2023.
