Three Ajax players that could make Frank De Boer’s life as Crystal Palace manager a whole lot easier.

A new era has started at Crystal Palace with the confirmation that Frank De Boer has been appointed the club’s new manager on a three-year deal.

De Boer has already been quoted by the BBC about being excited to “spend a lot of money” and that “one or two signings” are likely, and there are certainly some areas to be addressed in the Palace squad.

While his most recent managerial post was at Inter Milan, the 47-year-old made his name in the dugout during six years with Ajax and here are three players from the Amsterdam Arena that could solve the Eagles’ problems.

While club record signing Christian Benteke is the main focus in attack, with Fraizer Campbell leaving the club and Connor Wickham still recovering from injury, support for the Belgian is needed.

Dolberg greatly impressed in 2016/17 with 23 goals in all competitions, but it would certainly cost “a lot of money” to land the 19-year-old, with the Sun quoting around £20m.

Andre Onana

With longest serving player Julian Speroni now a backup option at best and Steve Mandanda strongly linked with a return to Marseille by talkSPORT and others, a new goalkeeper would be a useful addition.

Wayne Hennessey is the current number one, but 21-year-old Onana would offer superb competition – the only problem being the Cameroon international has just signed a new contract and his transfer fee would reflect that.

While much was being made about other members of a talented young Ajax squad ahead of the Europa League final with Manchester United, it was Sanchez who really caught the eye in that match.

The 21-year-old was quoted by Goal as saying Barcelona would interest him (but then which player would not say that?) and perhaps a move to the Premier League to bolster a struggling Palace defence would also tempt the centre-back.
